Food allergies

Symptoms of an atopic pet and one suffering from food allergy are sometimes similar. In addition to itchy skin, ear infections, excessive feet licking are common in pets with food allergy, and sometimes gastrointestinal problems like diarrhea and vomiting.  The symptoms typically come year-round.

Food-induced hypersensitivity cannot be treated with immunotherapy. Avoidance and elimination diets are the key forms of treatment. The Alergovet Food Test can be a very useful tool to design the elimination diet due to its high negative predictive value.
